Zambia’s main airport is Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), located 14km/9mi from the capital, Lusaka. From Lusaka, you can fly or drive between reserves.

Taxis are available 24 hours a day at Lusaka International Airport. They have an orange band so that they are easily identifiable and a taxi fare to the city center starts from K250. 00 local currency or $25.00.

Jimmy and Kadi’s love story

Our journey began in South Africa on a warm spring evening, September 5th, 2023 — a day that changed our lives forever.

Both of us work in the mining industry, and by a stroke of fate, our companies happened to be clients of Bell Equipment. We were invited to visit their workshops, though on separate days. It wasn’t until a dinner arranged by the ever-thoughtful Bell manager, Samson Chingozho, that our paths finally crossed.

That night, my sister and I were staying at the DaVinci Hotel in Sandton. Samson called to say he was waiting in the lobby to escort us to dinner — a kind gesture since we were two young ladies in a new city. As we descended into the lobby, I noticed Jimmy immediately. He stood up quickly to greet us, and there was something about his eyes — the way he kept glancing at me — that made my heart skip.

We rode in separate taxis to the restaurant, but I couldn’t help whispering to my sister and friend, “That Jimmy guy is cute.” We all laughed and brushed it off. But once we arrived, fate had other plans. Jimmy was seated next to my friend, but he kept stealing glances my way. My sister leaned over and said, “That guy can’t stop looking at you.” Eventually, I nudged my friend to swap seats with Jimmy — giving him a chance to talk to me.

To my surprise, he was suddenly shy and quiet. So I broke the ice. I asked if he was related to Musamba, someone I thought I’d met before. That opened the door — and from there, the conversation flowed effortlessly all night.

As the evening drew to a close, Jimmy asked for my number — and then, shyly but boldly, asked for a kiss. And we kissed.

The next morning, he texted me: “Hi beautiful,” along with a photo of a napkin bearing a kiss — my lipstick from the night before. Later, he asked me out on a proper date. We went to Tang, where we laughed, connected, and shared something so genuine, it felt like we had known each other forever.

That night, back in my hotel room, I cried tears of joy and thanked God. Jimmy was everything I had ever prayed for in a husband — kind, respectful, and full of love.

From that moment, we’ve been inseparable. We’ve loved one another deeply, purely, and unconditionally.

And now, we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our love story — surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
